Using the sound of paper as a featured instrument in my music is still very present since Turner Piece. I’m not done with it yet. Does it represent a natural micro texture, the weather, does it refer to books and cut-outs, or do I just appreciate it for the sound it is?
At the moment I’m writing for piano and paper sounds, trying to match them in floral, sweet, angry, slow, busy and rhythmical ways. Low registers. High registers. Yet often it comes down to the simplest things that end up working best. Even though I had something very different in mind. #paperpianoétudes
