Fashionable Sounds

sound design for a fashion retailer

I think this must be one of my earliest designed sound pieces, from 1997. A shop with mostly stretchy high street fashion was looking for a solution in presenting these clothes more cheerful, since the stretchiness makes the clothes dangle spiritless from the hanger. I reasoned the spiritlessness to be the problem, not the dangling. So I created a stretchy sounding composition to play in the shop. It would turn the whole experience of the shop chewy, which in turn would ease the interpretation of the dangling fabric.

This piece was my first computer generated music, on an Atari 1040 ST, with external 20MB hardisk (!), running Cubase. Unfortunately the file got lost in a flooding.
